The SGA Budget passed last night at the senate meeting, including a disputed item regarding funding for a spirit band for athletic events. The spirit band will only receieve funds if they attend equal numbers of men's athletic events and women's athletic events to prevent any potential title 9 violations.
Elliot is in negotiations with Sodexho, expecting to result in some late night dining options.
Laundry Machines have reverted to the original 75 cent rate. Now, the money you save (after about 12 loads) can go toward one of those organic chocolate bars in the c-store.
Remember: If you have student issues, this is a great time to come and voice them. If you think something should change on campus, come tell the people who can effect it.
Next week: Same time (5pm) Same place (the Audubon Room).
ciao!

SGA meeting 9/10/08: what really happened
Congratulations, first and foremost to our new justices: Shawn Ali, Meg Lancaster, Joelle Brown, Robin Abbott, and Kate Rafferty.
The Budget was tabled for further review, except for the allocations portion- that passed. Allocations, in laymen terms, is the part of student fees that go to student organizations. This way, everybody's clubs can pay for stuff.
The long-awaited pool tables and other games including shuffleboard and foosball were also approved within the budget. SGA hopes to have them in the lobby of the O.R. by late October if not sooner.
I don't know how many of you are familiar with this, but Loyola students were promised late-night food on Friday and Saturday nights by distributor Sudexho. However, the past few weeks, there have been no outlets open on campus. Elliot Sanchez, (henceforth referred to as just Elliot, or El Presidente) noted that this was a breech in Sudexho's contract, and is pursuing the issue this week with universty higherups.
Meetings take place at 5pm on Tuesday in the Audubon Room. Come stop by- they're open to the public and more fun than a barrel of monkeys.
